This Sukkos, take a Torah Tour of the L.A. Zoo!

The tour will take place on Sunday October 3rd at 2pm; if it sells out, there will also be a morning tour at 10am. Each tour lasts around three hours. The tours are aimed at adults and older children; younger children can be brought too, as long as they don't cause a disturbance. The tour involves a lot of walking.

Group size is limited to sixty people, and it is expected that there will be many more applicants than available places, so please reserve spaces as soon as possible! The price is $25 for adults and $20 for children (2-12), including admission, which must be paid in advance. To make a reservation, write to LAtour@zootorah.com and state how many adults and children wish to attend. Please also include a contact phone number.

Please help spread the word! You can download a poster for the tour (in PDF format) by clicking here.

Wildly successful Zoo Torah programs for both adults and children operate at the beautiful L.A. Zoo and at shuls and schools in L.A. on an annual basis. The zoo also loans biofacts for lectures that take place outside of the zoo. It is also possible to rent a trained lion, bear and elephant (from a private ranch) for unique presentations in your local synagogue or school.

"On behalf of the entire Westwood Kehilla, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your fantastic shiurim. Not only were they well received and did they spark great interest, but they also inspired much intellectual curiosity. Surely, the net result will be greater appreciation for the depth of Torah. May Hashem grant you great success in your groundbreaking work and may you continue to be a conduit of Kiddush Hashem through your innovative, witty and sophisticated presentations of His animal kingdom. We hope that we will be able to schedule you for next year and look forward to hearing your shiurim in the future." - Rabbi Asher Brander, Westwood Kehilla

"Thank you so much for the stimulating program you presented... The materials you prepared were excellent and informative. The high spot was the trip to the zoo and looking at the animals in the light of the Bible. I learned a great deal and I know my students also gained a lot from the program." - Marjorie Manley, Middle School Principal, Hillel Hebrew Academy of Los Angeles

"Quite enlightening! Rabbi Slifkin taught me a great deal about this (unfortunately) obscure area of Torah. I came out with a greater respect for the animal kingdom and the Torah values that are able to be gleaned from it." - Rabbi Harry Greenspan, Coordinator of Beit Midrash Programs, Yeshiva of Los Angeles
