THE TISCH FAMILY ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS IN JERUSALEM (The Biblical Zoo)

The Zoo Torah program was created at the Tisch Family Zoological Gardens in Jerusalem, also known as The Biblical Zoo, in 1998. The zoo concentrates on animal from the Bible and provides a unique atmosphere with the aid of displays such as the Noah’s Ark visitor center displayed below. Visitors from all over the world have requested the special Zoo Torah tour of the zoo. It provided the material for the zoo’s unique guidebook, In Noah’s Footsteps: Biblical Perspective on the Zoo. There is also an animal handling session where participants can handle animals such as a ferret or a boa constrictor, and special activities such as feeding the elephants are sometimes available.
